Driver Hometowns
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has truly evolved into an All-American sport. Twenty-three states, encompassing all regions of the country, represent the hometowns of more than 50 NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers.
The state that has produced the most NASCAR Sprint Cup talent is North Carolina, with six drivers. California, paced by four-time champion Jeff Gordon of Vallejo, is tied with Missouri and Indiana at five drivers each. Wisconsin, led by 2003 champion Matt Kenseth, is tied with Virginia at four drivers each.
